How can VMind help?

VMind is a state of the art Virtual Reality experience that support young people and the people that care for them. It has been co-designed with academics, clinicians, mindfulness practitioners and technology specialists to support young people suffering with low mood anxiety and depression.

Crisis.

VMind can promote states of calm in young people who are in crisis states. When provisioned in the right way it can fully regulate young people who are experiencing extreme difficulties self regulating.

Support.

Using VMind on a regular basis can enable young people with complex problems to find places of calm that enables them to open up about their issues, and learn techniques for dealing with their own emotions.

Prevention.

VMind is based on tried and tested psychological frameworks for managing low mood, anxiety and depression, and can be used both as an intervention but also preventatively.

What is VMind?

VMind has been developed to support young people with their mental health. Its uses the latest in Virtual Reality hardware coupled with state of the art virtual experiences designed to calm the nervous system and enable the user to emotionally regulate. Included in the package is a large range of environments and experiences designed to support young people to emotionally regulate and experience ways in which to manage their minds. Each environment has been co-created with clinical professionals, mindfulness practitioners, and adolescents for providing safe and calming experiences coupled with tried and tested strategies for supporting mental health and adapted for use by young people.

Who is it for?

VMind has been developed for use by teenagers and adolescents aged 12+. It has been designed to support anyone of this age or above in a range of settings. Much of our initial research focused on VMind for use in schools, but its portable and ease of use nature means it can work well in a range of places.

Emotional Regulation

The virtual world nature of VMind enables focus and a distraction free environment for young people to engage with; by suspending reality and providing environments that allow young people to immerse themselves in a new reality it supports a renewed focus on the present moment with space, time and guidance in how to cope with every day life pressures and confusing emotions.

Free from everyday distractions

Many people are turning to mobile apps to support their mental health, and whilst these do clearly support many people, VMind has been developed to enable young people to be engaged and focused without the distractions and impacts that often come with mobile phones. We are all aware of the impact that alerts, notifications, newsfeeds and the like have on our bodies. VMind enables a completely distraction free environment to support uninterrupted regulation.
