4. How was VMind developed?

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Why does this work?

Virtual Reality has been around for many years, it is only now that advances in technology have made it commercially viable for adoption, but the clinical studies that evidence the uses of VR for supporting mental health has been increasing for some time now. The effect of immersion into an alternative reality has therapeutic benefits as it distracts the brain's focus away from external stressors and internal stressors. This, coupled with the therapeutic content in VMind, provides an excellent environment for an individual to regulate their nervous system. Click here to learn more about the science.

What happens if a headset is broken?

Its our belief that young people need to access the tools to support their mental health, and as such we created VMind to do this, but we understand that this may from time to time results in breakages and damages to the technology. That’s why within the pricing of VMind is for licensing both the hardware and the software and we include free replacements as part of the pricing of the product. In reality, we see that young people have a respect for technology, and we have yet to see a broken headset!!

We have a lot of pupils in our school, how can something like this make a difference?

VMind is best used in schools as a support to existing processes and staff working with SENCO and pastoral support teams. Whilst we would love to see wide scale use of VMind in schools we understand the financial pressures that schools face, so we have developed VMind to work in range of different contexts. Many of our schools utilise VMind in different ways. On the following page we have detailed the use cases.

How long is a session in VMind?

There is a wide variety of sessions in VMind ranging from 3 minutes to 20 minutes. People using the device can do one or many sessions in one sitting as required.
